Dara Adkison

Dara Adkison (she/they) is the current President of the Cleveland Stonewall Democrats, a proud queer parent, a database engineer, and one of the out 2020 Ohio House of Representatives candidates. She has led the twenty one year old CSD organization for the last three years and continues to expand its equity and mission. Dara’s passion for LGBTQIA+ advocacy is how they spend their free time when not playing with their child, surviving the pandemic, running in the forest, or working. 

The Cleveland Stonewall Democrats work to educate and identify Democratic candidates that will be vocal advocates and allies for LGBTQIA+ equality. At the local, state, and federal level, CSD has worked to elect hundreds of pro-equality Democrats, and enact pro-equality policies, laws, and declarations to ensure equal protection and support for the LGBTQIA+ community of Northeast Ohio. CSD’s advocacy is centered around: educating candidates and the community, the endorsement process for candidates looking to be vocal advocates of equality, community relationship building with other advocacy groups, and encouraging voting, running for office, and involvement in the LGBTQIA+ community across Northeast Ohio.
